New Protocols for May 26th Re-Opening

May 23, 2020

We're thrilled to announce that Makery Coworking will re-open on Tuesday, May 26th with reduced seating capacity.

The space will be available to current members only for a period of time. Current members is defined as anyone who had an active membership in good standing on March 16th, 2020. I realize some of our members had to go on hiatus since then, but you are welcome to be a part of the returning group when you are able and ready to activate a membership plan again. We will not allow Day Pass customers for at least a few weeks. As things progress, we'll assess when the proper time will be to relax these restrictions and allow more people to sign up.

We have new protocols to follow as we re-open and welcome members back into the space. I ask that you do your best to follow these guidelines in order to comply with what the state is asking us to do and to protect our fellow coworkers and friends.

** New Makery Coworking Protocols Effective Tuesday, May 26th, 2020**

• New Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm. The slightly reduced hours of operation allow us time to properly set up and clean the space.

• In order to control capacity, please book a Work Table BEFORE coming into Makery Coworking. You can do this by visiting the Booking Calendar in the member portal. There are 10 work tables to reserve on the main floor (see picture below). All tables are smaller than before and situated to maintain adequate distance. Similar to how the booking calendar is used to reserve the conference room, you can book your date/time and pick the table you want by selecting the "Resources" tab in the calendar. You will see a list of the "Work Tables," which are numbered and color coded per the attached picture. Each table has a number decal so when you arrive, you can ensure you sit at your reserved table. Only one person per table, please. You can access your member portal at https://members.makerycoworking.com/. Feel free to call me at 203-788-2665 if you need help.

• When you enter the space, please apply hand sanitizer. A spray bottle will be placed at the door for your use.

• Please wear a facemask upon entering until you are seated. You may remove the mask while you are working at your desk as long as you maintain social distancing of 6-feet or more. Please wear a mask when gathering in the kitchen area or in places were you can't maintain a six-foot distance.

• No more than 4 people will be allowed in the conference room for meetings. Please wear facemasks during meetings in the conference room. Tables have been re-arranged to space people apart. A new, secondary conference table is now available for booking in the Robotics & Beyond section of the basement. No more than 3 people can use this table at a time. This area is reservable on the booking calendar.

• Kitchen and Bathroom Use: hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be placed to wipe down shared items that we all touch. After pouring coffee, opening the refrigerator, or using sink/toilet handle/door handle, please give a quick wipe and place refuse in garbage can. Makery Coworking will clean these shared spaces multiple times throughout the day.

• Twin Star Apothecary will follow State Guidelines for a retail business, which includes having their employees and customers wearing masks upon entering/leaving the space. They also have a sneeze-guard installed at their check out table.

• Wash your hands frequently, do not touch your face, cough into your sleeve – continue to practice all good hygiene tips that have been recommended since the crisis began.

• Please stay home if you feel ill or present any COVID-19 symptoms. If your business requires that you travel out-of-state, especially to New York City or other hot spots, we ask that you consider not using the space until the incubation period is over. Please regulate your membership level accordingly. We will also have a thermal thermometer available to check your temperature, if needed.

• Makery Coworking will continue to wipe down all work surfaces at the end of each day. We will also mop the floor with a disinfectant cleaning multiple times per week.

I thank you in advance for helping to follow these protocols. As I said, my approach for all of this is to take things one day at a time and be flexible. It’s a fluid situation and I’m sure as we slowly get back to work that we’ll figure out better ways to make it all work and maintain a safe environment.

How we’ve prepared for the re-opening:

• We completed a deep cleaning of the space and surfaces with particular attention to common areas where multiple people gather (i.e., bathroom, kitchen, phone rooms).

• We repositioned tables so they are at least 8 – 10 feet apart. We removed “leaves” from the tables so they are smaller. There are 10 “socially distant” worktables set up on the main floor with other work areas available in the basement.

• We are replacing air filters with new HEPA filters.

• We have been airing out the space regularly. We hope to keep doors and windows open as much as possible until AC is required.

• Hand sanitizer and wipes will be placed in key locations throughout the space (door entry, kitchen, bathroom).

• We secured a thermal thermometer for testing temperatures.

• We added two outdoor patio tables for folks to sit outside on the sidewalk under the canopy.

• Conference room tables have been spread out for more social distancing. No more than 4 people will be allowed in the conference room at a time.

• We placed a large divider at the entry to guide visitor traffic for Twin Star Apothecary transactions and Makery Coworking Members. This will be easier to understand when seen in person, but the goal is to direct Makery Members into the main floor area and maintain a barrier from customers who are picking up orders from Twin Star. Twin Star plans to offer pickup service two days a week and these transactions will take place closer to the door and/or outside. They will not bring customers in to shop in the rear of the floor where they originally set up their product display.

I thank you in advance for helping to follow these protocols. As I said, my approach for all of this is to take things one day at a time and be flexible. It’s a fluid situation and I’m sure as we slowly get back to work that we’ll figure out better ways to make it all work and maintain a safe environment.
