Dear Makery Coworking Community:
As the Coronavirus situation continues to evolve, I wanted to provide a detailed summary of what we are currently doing. Because we exist to support your business and/or job, we understand our Members have come to count on our resources to work productively.
Of course, everyone's safety is paramount, which is why effective today we are implementing the following changes:
New, temporary operating hours will go into effect: 9am to 5pm.
The space will be available only to current coworking members. We will not accept new members or day-pass customers until we have a better sense of how/when the curve flattens.
Please do not hold meetings with non-members here at Makery. We will not rent the conference room out to non-members until further notice.
All Makery events for March are cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Please do not interpret these actions to mean I am encouraging people to come work here. I fully support the strategy of social distancing, but I know some of you need access to the space in order to continue your work. Last week, attendance was already down significantly and I expect it will be even lighter this week. I anticipate we will be well under any mandated social distancing policy implemented by the State, which at the time of this writing is no crowds greater than 50 persons.
Twinstar Apothecary will also remain open per their normal hours of operation. Like most businesses right now, Twinstar is actively communicating its Coronavirus action plan with their customers. Included in their communication is reinforcing that anyone who is sick or exhibiting symptoms should not come into the space. Twinstar is also encouraging people to take advantage of their online ordering options.
As communicated previously, we will continue to be diligent with daily cleaning and disinfecting. Please remember the following:
Everyone must wash their hands when entering the space.
We wipe down all shared work surfaces and equipment each day. Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers are available to self clean your area if needed.
If you are sick, have been in close contact with a sick individual, or have recently traveled into hot zones, interstate or internationally, please refrain from coming in to the space. If you have had a cold or the flu, please self quarantine until you are symptom-free and without fever for at least 48 hours.
Please refrain from personal contact such as handshaking, hugging, or touching other people's belongings while at Makery Coworking.
If you, or anyone you know, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, please inform us as soon as possible so we can take further steps to protect our community and comply with state public health orders.
Lastly, thank you to everyone who reached out to me to share your concerns and desire to work at home for the time being. Obviously, I honor everyone's personal choices during this time. I am working on a plan to carry over unused time that people bought for March but have not used. I will communicate the details in a few days.
I hope everyone can try to hang with us as they are able. This will be a difficult time for Makery Coworking, but I remain optimistic we can weather the storm.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thank you for your support and be well!
