Makery Coworking took home first place honors in the "Community Favorite Best Space" category at the recent CT Entrepreneur Awards held at Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT. A total of 220 finalists were up for awards with nearly 9,000 votes cast from across the state of Connecticut.
"It's humbling that the community voted us this honor given we have only been in business a little over a year," said Tony Vengrove, Founder of Makery Coworking. "I can't thank everyone enough, especially all the talented and generous people that choose to work out of our space."
The CT Entrepreneur Awards identify, recognize, and celebrate Connecticut’s leading entrepreneurs, ventures, and ecosystem elements that support them. The CT Entrepreneur Awards are a product of the CT Entrepreneur Event Organizers consortium. This is an all-volunteer cooperative effort of all the people and organizations that host and facilitate entrepreneur-facing events in CT.
Vengrove served on the organizing team for the inaugural CT Entrepreneur Awards in 2017. He is passionate about fostering startup activity across Connecticut, but especially in Litchfield County.
"It wasn't just a big night for Makery Coworking, it was a big night for New Milford," Vengrove added. "Three other people from New Milford were also recognized including Kevin Lane, Jessica Reis and Lacee Yurtoglu."
Vengrove was also honored as first-runner up in the "Community Favorite Community Builder" category.
The full list of 2018 winners will be posted on the event website.
