One of Makery Coworking's missions is to showcase the work of makers, creators, and entrepreneurs. We're pleased to share the work of three artists currently on display (and for sale).
Chandra Rogers (New Milford):
Chandra Rogers is an emerging local artist specializing in oil painting and drawing. Her striking Majestic Oak paintings (featured above) are oil on canvas and each measure 24x48".
Her work has been strongly inspired by the beauty she finds in nature and from capturing a moment in time through the creative use of light, color, and a painterly brushstroke. Chandra views creating art as a personal form of release and clearing her mind.
"Simply put, creating art brings me pure joy. When my life gets hectic and my busy schedule feels overwhelming, I always look forward to the cherished time I set aside for
painting and drawing," says Chandra. "Focusing on art has awakened a fire in my soul which I plan on kindling and caring for as long as my life allows."
The Majestic Oak paintings are for sale at $1,500 each or $4,000 for all three.
Raheem "Ra" Nelson is an iPad Artisit based in New Haven, CT. He studied at the School of Visual Arts and finished with a BA in Cartooning. While he possesses a traditional background in cartooning, he now works exclusively on his iPad, utilizing apps like Brushes, Sketchbook Pro, and Procreate.
Ra illustrated all the artwork in the recently released cookbook by Amanda Glover, Sweetie Bake Your Day (featured above). As part of a recent book-launch event, Ra led an iPad Art workshop at Makery Coworking where he demonstrated how he uses Procreate to create digital art.
Limited edition 12x12" metal prints are available to purchase for $150 (includes shipping). In addition to the prints hanging at Makery Coworking, you can order a print of any image from the cookbook.
To order prints, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to follow Ra on his website and Instagram.
